InterContinental Abu Dhabi and InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi have won five titles at the World Travel Awards 2026, announced during the Gala Ceremony in Dubai.
The awards come ahead of Arabian Travel Market 2026, where the two properties will meet with travel trade partners across business and leisure travel, meetings and events, family travel, corporate relocation and extended stays.
InterContinental Abu Dhabi was named Middle East’s Leading Business Hotel 2026 and Abu Dhabi’s Leading Business Hotel 2026.
InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi received three titles: Middle East’s Leading Serviced Apartments 2026, United Arab Emirates’ Leading Hotel Residences 2026 and Abu Dhabi’s Leading Hotel Residences 2026.
The recognition coincides with InterContinental Abu Dhabi’s 45th year in the capital. Since opening in 1981, the hotel has grown alongside the city, developing from one of Abu Dhabi’s early international hotels into a waterfront destination for business, leisure, dining and events.

“Receiving recognition for both InterContinental Abu Dhabi and InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi is a proud moment for our entire team,” said Sayed Tayoun, Cluster General Manager, InterContinental Abu Dhabi and InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi. “These awards recognize two very different but complementary properties. InterContinental Abu Dhabi has been part of the capital for 45 years, while the Residences reflects how the needs of travelers are changing, particularly for longer stays and greater flexibility. Together, they allow us to serve a much wider range of guests coming to Abu Dhabi.”
One Destination, Multiple Ways to Stay
InterContinental Abu Dhabi has been part of the capital since 1981 and today combines 390 rooms and suites, including newly refreshed accommodations, with a private beach, marina, extensive meetings and events facilities, and a collection of established dining destinations. The World Travel Awards follow further recognition in 2026, including Best Business Hotel – Abu Dhabi at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards and Favourite Beach Hotel at the What’s On Abu Dhabi Awards, reflecting the hotel’s strength across both business and leisure travel.
InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi, which opened in 2023, adds 130 studios and one- to three-bedroom residences for short and extended stays, corporate relocation and family travel. Its growing dining and lifestyle offering includes Kokoro Handroll Bar and Bake My Day, introduced through NCT&H’s strategic collaboration with FYTE Hospitality.
Together, the Hotel and Residences offer options ranging from short business and leisure visits to extended corporate assignments and longer family stays.
